On May 29, 2025, the BHCare Training Platform, in partnership with the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) and the Canadian Geriatrics Society (CGS), hosted the Brain Health in Action Workshop: Interactive Training for Inclusive Research at the Toronto Westin Harbour Castle. This half-day event brought together trainees, researchers, and experts for an engaging afternoon of skill-building, discussion, and networking focused on Inclusive research and knowledge mobilization in brain health care and aging.
Through hands-on sessions led by Dr. Gillian Einstein and Dr. Natasha Rajah, participants explored strategies for integrating sex, gender, and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles into research design and recruitment. A closing session on using social media for knowledge mobilization, delivered by Dr. Thomas Hadjistavropoulos, rounded out the program. With opening remarks from Dr. Jane Rylett, Dr. Howard Chertkow, and Dr. Eric Smith, the workshop provided attendees with practical tools and valuable insights to advance inclusive and impactful brain health research.
